Bolivian Business magazine selected Javier Rota, Country Manager of Alicorp Bolivia, as one of the members of The Big Ones list, which annually brings together leading executives from the country's corporate sphere, highlighting their business career.

The main objective of The Big Ones is to recognize professionalism and the "brilliant careers that entrepreneurs build in order to contribute to the development of Bolivia," according to Jaime Calderon, director of Bolivian Business.

In the edition that the renowned business magazine dedicated to The Big Ones 2023, Javier Rota, who has been Country Manager of Alicorp Bolivia since 2021, pointed out that "the three main skills that a manager must have are: identification and development of talent , management of ambiguity/uncertainty and strategic thinking.

In the interview, Rota highlighted that the greatest achievement of his 20-year career occurred when he was running Alicorp's operations in the southern region, carrying out a transformation plan with more than 150 efficiency initiatives; while in parallel it was building the development of the portfolio, brands and channels that allowed the company to gain market share in priority categories.

"The union of these two great efforts allowed us to obtain the operational and profitability results that we had projected as a company, which were hard to achieve, but we achieved them with a committed team motivated to turn the business around," pondered the executive.

Who is Javier Rota?

Javier Rota Baguer is an Industrial Engineer from the University of Lima; He has an MBA from EGADE and completed an executive business program at Stanford University.

His track record includes 20 years of experience at Alicorp. In 2003 he arrived at the company where he developed as Head and then Brand Manager. In 2013 he was appointed Marketing Manager and that same year he became Director of said area, a position he held until 2018, when he was appointed Business Director for the Southern Cone, leading the team in Argentina.

In 2019 he returned to Peru to assume the leadership of Intradevco when it was acquired by Alicorp and since 2020 he has been serving as Managing Director of the Home Care Business Unit, carrying out successful positioning initiatives for leading brands such as Bolivar, Sapolio and Opal. . He is Country Manager of Alicorp Bolivia since September 2021.
