Alicorp, a company present in the Bolivian market with brands such as Fino, Sao, Regia margarine, Don Vittorio noodles, as well as cleaning and home care products, among which Bolívar, Uno, Opal, Patito and Sapolio stand out, is part of the TOP 5 of companies in the food sector according to the MERCO ESG Ranking, a reference corporate monitor in Latin America that has been evaluating the reputation of companies since 2000.
The MERCO Social Responsibility ESG Ranking measures the performance of companies through the criteria of environmental care, social performance and governance (ESG). The results come from a survey of opinion leaders and various stakeholders who recognize the leadership of the companies with the best performance in the Bolivian industry.
As a result, Alicorp was ranked 34th in the general ranking that lists the 100 companies with the best performance. This position has meant an increase in 22 positions compared to the previous ranking. Likewise, the company is among the top 50 most prominent companies in each area, with governance being where it has its best position, ranking 23rd.
It is also worth noting that in the general MERCO ranking of companies in the food sector, Alicorp was ranked 4th, consolidating its position as a leading company.
“We are proud to be present in this ranking and even more so to see that every year we climb positions as a sign of recognition of our role in the Bolivian industry,” said Cynthia Valencia, executive manager of Corporate Affairs at Alicorp Bolivia.
The executive also highlighted the companyás role in working hand in hand with various sectors to accompany the development of Bolivians. “We receive this recognition with great gratitude and commitment to continue promoting the sustainable development of the company whose pillars of sustainability are well-being, the development of its value chain and environmental care,” Valencia said.
Among the most relevant actions of the company is its training program for carriers, Companeros de Ruta, with which they have been contributing to the road safety education of their transportation suppliers. Likewise, the company works with other allies, such as the Greenside organization to promote the collection of oil used by its clients in the gastronomic sector, thus reducing the impact caused by this type of waste.
This recognition is added to others that the company has received in recent weeks, such as the Paul Harris and Maya awards, as well as its inclusion in the Merco Empresas, Merco Lideres lists and the ranking of the 500 largest companies in Bolivia.
