Alicorp has been incorporated into the S&P/BVL Peru General ESG Index, compiled by S&P Dow Jones Indices, the leading global index provider, and the Lima Stock Exchange (BVL). The results were published this Thursday and include the shares of three new companies that are added to this sustainability index for the first time, one of them, Alicorp.
This is a very important milestone for the company that reflects Alicorp's strategy and sustained work. This index evaluates that the listed companies meet the environmental, social and good corporate governance criteria defined by the DJSI through the "Corporate Sustainability Assessment".
The companies that are part of this list register the highest sustainability standards based on the principles of the United Nations Global Compact, have minimal or no exposure to controversial activities in terms of sustainability, reflected in the achievement of the best scores of the local market.
On this occasion, Alicorp was added to the list of companies considered in the sustainability index for the 2022-2023 period thanks to the fact that it achieved an improvement of more than 55% of the score obtained in the previous period. This index makes it easier for investors to make better investment decisions, by giving them clarity to opt for shares of companies that meet ESG (environmental, social and good corporate governance) criteria, since it means that they contemplate greater transparency and better management of the risks involved. future.
