Alicorp launched the "Campaña Turronera" to promote the development of traditional Peruvian artisanal baking. The iconic turrón—or turrón de Doña Pepa—is a symbol of Lima’s festivities honoring the Lord of Miracles (Señor de los Milagros), with a history dating back to the 17th century.
One of the essential ingredients is shortening, a product featured in the portfolio of FAMOSA, an Alicorp brand found in bakeries across the country.
In this context, the "Campaña Turronera" was born under the slogan: "Make your bakery famous" (Que tu panadería se vuelva famosa). Its goal is to encourage bakers to produce turrones, highlighting this tradition as a profitable business opportunity to drive the growth of their establishments. Additionally, Alicorp’s clients were invited to participate in scheduled events and enjoy the turrón experience. The main event featured a competition among Alicorp’s bakery clients, who vied to prepare the best turrón.
The contest was judged by expert bakers and Alicorp representatives, who evaluated the creativity, presentation, and flavor of the entries. The jury included Jesús Alzamora, Rosalyn Picón, and Carlos Chávez, along with 10 internal Alicorp employee judges.
The winners were:
1st Place: Berisso (winner for the second consecutive year)
2nd Place: Huérfanos
3rd Place: Turrones Diaz
"We have been preparing turrón since the founding of Berisso in 1938. Selling turrones during this time of year benefits us because it adds an extra product to our offering, which boosts my business," commented Luis Antonio Berisso Solari, Manager of Panadería Berisso.
Through this initiative, Alicorp reaffirms its commitment to the development of Peruvian artisanal baking, strengthening ties with its clients and celebrating a tradition that unites thousands of families every October.
