Lima, June 2025. In a context where small and medium-sized businesses represent more than 99% of the country's businesses and generate more than 40% of the national GDP, according to PRODUCE and the Inter-American Development Bank, the song "We Are the Engine," performed by the Yaipén Brothers, was released last weekend. This song is part of a musical campaign promoted by Alicorp in partnership with the Yaipén Brothers, which pays tribute to those who, day after day, drive millions of businesses in the country with effort and hope.
This campaign is part of the "Allies of Your Development" ecosystem, which together supports more than 160,000 entrepreneurs in the country and has already trained more than 300,000 users in "Grow Together."
The centerpiece of this initiative is a song composed especially for the campaign, inspired by the stories of real entrepreneurs, with the unmistakable musical signature of northern cumbia. "We Are the Engine" becomes a collective celebration of the entrepreneurial work that sustains millions of families in the country.
"At Alicorp, we deeply believe in the transformative power of entrepreneurship; we support entrepreneurs through various initiatives that contribute to the growth of restaurants, grocery stores, laundries, bakeries, and many more. This campaign is a way to recognize, from an emotional and cultural perspective, the fundamental role played by those who work for their future and that of their communities," says Malena Morales, Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Alicorp.
A campaign created with and for entrepreneurs
The music video for the song, available at aliadosdetudesarrollo.pe, as well as on YouTube and social media, was filmed in markets, warehouses, and small businesses representing various regions of the country. The Yaipén Brothers tell us, with rhythm and pride, about the entrepreneurial experience in Peru.
