Continuing with its tour of the country, "Ollas que Desarrollan" will visit Huancayo for the first time. This September 16 and 17 they will take almost 2 tons of food, equivalent to 30,150 servings, to the common pots identified in the region.

This initiative, led by Alicorp and managed by the NGO Juguete Pendiente, began operating in May of this year. Among its actions includes the delivery of food, kitchen utensils and training on topics such as leadership, negotiation, nutrition and health.

Since then, it has delivered more than 1 million rations to 165 common pots located in Piura, Chiclayo, Trujillo, Lima, Arequipa, Cusco and Abancay. Likewise, today it has other allied companies that are helping to expand donations, utensils and training.

As is known, the common pots arose as spontaneous associations between neighboring families to face the consequences brought by the pandemic, such as unemployment and the loss of family members, often in charge of the family economy. In this sense, the common pots continue their work through the daily preparation of food dishes that they sell at a symbolic value and at no cost to their neighbors with the greatest need, such as the elderly or people with disabilities.

Likewise, Peru and several countries worldwide face the impact of high inflation worldwide since the increases in the prices of raw materials, fuel, energy and climate change have made the cost of living more expensive. Faced with this scenario, Alicorp, together with allied companies and Juguete Pendiente, come together through this initiative that seeks to respond to immediate needs and help make common pots self-sustaining. Among the companies that have joined Ollas Que Desarrollan are the Unacem cement company, BCP through Yape, Record pots and Nexus Food.

We have been working tirelessly to make Ollas que Desarrollan the scalable and sustainable project over time that we imagined when we started. To date, we have various allies, thanks to which we continue to support and strengthen the country's common pots, which play a fundamental role in feeding thousands of people.

Thanks to this initiative, we have managed to serve more than 28,000 people whose daily food depends on these social organizations, which are so important in our country," said Malena Morales, Alicorp's Vice President of Corporate Affairs.

In this way, Ollas que Desarrollan arrives for the first time in Huancayo and in November it will return to the region to provide training and utensils to the leaders of the common pots. So far in the program, they have already managed to serve more than 28 thousand people with access to more than 1 million rations and it is expected to double that number.

The initiative continues to seek to positively impact the communities and invites companies, organizations and individuals to be part of the initiative through the website www.ollasquedesarrollan.pe
